We had participants in the math competitions, photography, t-shirt, poster, and sketching competitions. Below are some pictures from the convention. Congratulations to Miss Hannah for winning the t-shirt competition at the school and winning the monetary award from the Missouri School for the Blind courtesy of Mr. Doyle!

September 2nd Meeting

RMS JH BETAs had their first monthly meeting of 2009! So many new things to learn from last year! We have 2 new sponsors...Mrs. Sederwall and Mrs. Boeschen. During our meeting we discussed...

Membership fees and requirements (they are posted on the side column)

Suggestions for service hours were discussed and agreed upon. So many too choose from, we decided to start small and add more if we have time. Here are the ones we selected...

1. Hire/Buy A BETA--Mrs. Sederwall has already posted this in the CTA Newsletter
and will have Mr. Hobbs add to the community newsletter

2. Adopt-A-Highway--Mrs. Sederwall said she would contact the Department of
Transportation to get us set up and going. We'll be working with the HS BETA
club on this one when they start.

3. Shoe Box Drive for Christmas

4. Easter Baskets

5. Red Ribbon Week

Mrs. Kauffmann has already requested BETAs to help her out in the outdoor classroom. Work will begin next week!

T-shirts for the club was discussed. We'd like to have an order ready soon so we can have shirts in time for Carnival!

Carnival is October 16th! We're having a booth "Duck Pond". Jakaya will bring in the wading pool. We'll discuss more what we need at the next month's meeting.

Mrs. Sederwall passed around information regarding State Convention. Topics we're interested in competing in need to be told to Mrs. Sederwall, so she can get the rules and regulations, etc.

Grades will be checked mid-quarter for anyone interested in being a member. All members grades will be checked October 16th before we register for State convention!

Be sure to check out the sidebar for important dates to know and important news!!!
